Equiom Jersey is pleased to announce that it has raised £37,500 for Cancer Research UK as a result of its recent annual charity lunch, this year in partnership with Rathbones. This amount exceeded the target set by Equiom to reach a total of more than £100,000 raised for Cancer Research UK over the 5 years the event has been running. All funds raised will go to the Cancer Research UK Centre at the University of Southampton, the hospital central to the treatment of Channel Islands patients.

Held at Longueville Manor on 27th June, the event was attended by more than 60 guests, including Sianne Haldane, Head of Planned Giving Philanthropy and Maria Gomez, Senior Local Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research UK and Professor Graham Packham, Professor of Molecular Oncology within Medicine at the University of Southampton. The luxury auction included items such as Lords cricket tickets, a signed England rugby jersey, Premier League hospitality and exclusive spa experiences.

Global CEO at Equiom, Sheila Dean commented: ‘This year’s event was a huge success and we’re absolutely thrilled to have raised such an amazing amount of money for this worthy cause. Of course, we couldn’t do it without the generosity of all of the local businesses and individuals who donated raffle and auction prizes and for that am I truly very thankful. Over the last five years, we’ve been supported by Bedell Cristin, Quilter Cheviot and Rathbones with additional support from local clients who attend each year, as well as Longueville Manor, a venue and team second to none.’

Steve Le Seelleur, Managing Director of Equiom Jersey added: ‘It was a fantastic event that we are proud to have hosted. To be able to raise more than £100,000 over five years is just incredible and I am sure this will go a long way to supporting Channel Islands residents through the work of Cancer Research UK.’
