Ioana Georgescu  

Ioana leads Equiom’s Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) offering in the Middle East, which offers bespoke compliance solutions to companies and private offices wishing to operate within the DIFC and/or ADGM and UAE mainland.

She leads a team of highly experienced compliance, risk and corporate governance professionals, who focus on assisting companies in securing their regulatory licences, building and delivering robust compliance frameworks, providing regulatory advice and training, remediation programmes and outsourced MLRO, Risk Officer and Compliance Officer services.

Ioana has more than 20 years’ experience in the GRC sector, working with international investment advisory firms and consultancies. She specialises in regulatory business consulting, AML risk assessment, and governance and has gained a unique blend of experience in offering regulatory and blockchain technology consulting services for financial institutions across multiple jurisdictions.

While Ioana’s experience has been predominantly gained within the UAE, she has also had exposure to the European and American markets through risk projects.
