Equiom announces sponsorship of Laxey AFC juniors

Friday 04 May 2018

Equiom has confirmed a sponsorship deal with local football club Laxey AFC juniors under which they will support all junior teams comprising both boys and girls up to the age of 16.

The three year contract will include the supply of more than 300 new football kits to the club and all existing kit will be donated to young footballers in Africa via the charity KitAid.

Mike Murley, Club Secretary of Laxey AFC, commented on the sponsorship:

‘We are absolutely thrilled to have this commitment from Equiom. We have always been reliant upon small donations here and there to ensure costs for running the club are covered. Now, with this longer term commitment from Equiom across all 19 of our youth teams, we can ensure that all of our juniors and their coaches have a kit that they can be proud of. Our coaching staff can also concentrate more on developing their players and less on the financial and equipment sourcing aspects. At Laxey AFC, we pride ourselves on our excellent coaching and facilities as well as the creation of a positive culture. Support like this just re-affirms our values and allows us to plan for the future with confidence.’

Managing Director of Equiom Isle of Man, Aidan Davin added:

‘I am thrilled that Equiom is to sponsor Laxey AFC Juniors. Development of our island’s young people has always been a focus of our community support initiatives and this sponsorship complements our existing backing for the Equiom Isle of Man Junior Cycling Development Squad and Albany Tennis Club. Having sponsored Laxey Under 8s football for the past two years, it was apparent to us that there is a strong community feel at Laxey AFC. We are keen to create more than just a commercial arrangement and we will therefore work with the club in several areas including partnering to raise funds for the club’s charity of choice, Victim Support, who previously provided bereavement counselling at the club following the unexpected death of a player a few years ago.’
